Washington – Today, April 22, as the Biden-Harris Administration celebrates Earth Day, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced 60 selectees that will receive $7 billion in grant awards through the Solar for All grant competition to deliver residential solar projects to over 900,000 households nationwide.
Leer en español WASHINGTON, D.C. — As part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced several new solar energy investments to cut home electricity bills and reduce local pollution.
This $7 billion investment will generate over $350 million in annual savings on electric bills for overburdened households. The program will reduce 30 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions cumulatively, from over four gigawatts of solar energy capacity unlocked for low-income communities over five years.
WASHINGTON — The Department of the Interior today announced an updated roadmap for solar energy development across the West, designed to expand solar energy production in more Western states and make renewable energy siting and permitting on America’s public lands more efficient.
In Nevada, the BLM is advancing four proposed solar projects: The BLM released a draft environmental impact statement for the proposed Libra Solar Project in Mineral and Lyon counties, which, if approved, will generate and store up to 700 megawatts of photovoltaic solar energy that would power approximately 212,233 homes.
Successful teams have the potential to deploy as much as 150 megawatts of community solar across the country—enough to power nearly 30 thousand American homes—and access $5 billion in private sector financing through the Community Power Accelerator™.

Bidders must have a track record of commissioning at least ten grid-tied solar PV projects, including two car park solar PV projects and one ground-mounted solar PV project in the past three years.
