A. When waking your Tilt from a standing or laying down position you will see an LED on the circuit board blink green, indicating the battery is good. If you can't see the LED or it is very dim, you'll want to swap out your battery.
However, manufacturers of batteries state the battery can be positioned vertically or horizontally or sideways, but there is no mention of upside down: With isolated seal, it is not limited to direction, position in place. It can be put in horizontal way, vertical way and side way, its safely and functions totally will not be affected.
We have engineered Tilt for the best battery life possible - 12 months of active use and estimated 24 months of occasional use. However, you may still want to double-check your battery level before committing your Tilt to a fermentation, especially if you expect it to last over a month.
Tile is completely sealed and does not have a user-replaceable battery. Tile promises that the device will last for an entire year.
Models installed horizontally may not be mounted on the end (shortest side), should not rest on the cover or case/cover seam, and must be supported fully on the long side of the case. Use caution not to cover or apply pressure to valves located on the top of the batteries when using strapping to install or secure cells as damage may occur.
Flooded lead-acid batteries must be kept in an upright position at all times as electrolyte may spill if tilted more than 20 degrees. Rolls VRLA AGM batteries should be installed upright for best performance and may not be mounted upside down or horizontally on the end (shortest side) of the case.

There are multiple concerns here. 1) depending on the battery composition it may damage the battery, the UPS, or more. 2) in towers you need more weight on bottom than on top. Do you have something heavier than the UPS that is on the bottom? Otherwise you risk tipping, or oscillating if the build shakes.

How Do I Integrate a Battery Backup with a Grid-Tie Solar Power System?
This design places the battery-based inverter output and the grid-tie inverter output on a common bus or loads panel resulting in the two being coupled together hence the phrase "AC Coupling".
