Oman receives a tremendous amount of solar radiation throughout the year, which is among the highest in the world\. There is significant scope for harnessing and developing solar energy resources throughout the Sultanate.
As for the PV system size, the results show that the sizing ration of the PV array for Oman is1.33 while the sizing ratio for battery is 1.6. However the cost of the energy generated by the proposed system is 0.196 USD/kWh. 1. Introduction
In Oman the standard voltage is 240 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. You can't use your electric appliances in Oman without a voltage converter, because the standard voltage in Oman (240 V) is higher than in the United States of America (120 V).
The objectives of the Project are to: (a) increase the availability of the renewable power generation capacity and improve the balance between supply and demand during the peak hours in Oman’s Main Interconnected System grid which serves Muscat and northern Oman.
The natural gas production is1,097,661 MMcf in 2009. The government in Oman accounts for 29.16% of total gas production in 2008, while the remainder is used in oil-production and for export, and up to 92% of the natural gas is domestically used for producing electricity .
