I have just had a sunsynk 5kw inverter installed. It seems to not use the battery when AC is connected. Only draws from grid and from Solar. What settings needs to change? I recently had a Deye 5kW Hybrid installed, now I have installed lithium batteries and I am using a Jaibaida BMS (JBD) without communication with the inverter, therefore the battery mode I use is Batt V. The first day I installed the batteries, These were charged to 100% (49V) according to the set limit and agrees with what the BMS tells me.
The problem occurs when the energy consumption of the house is higher than produced by the solar panels or, for example, it is night and there is no solar production, in these cases the battery does not come into operation and only energy from the Grid is used.
The Sunsynk 5kW Inverter shows 0 or 100% SOC and nothing inbetween. (The passage further discusses the battery pack and BMS details, which is not relevant to the Question and should not be modified.)
Connect the Probes: Attach the red probe to the positive terminal and the black probe to the negative terminal of the battery. Read the Voltage: Look at the display. A fully charged solar battery usually shows a voltage slightly above its rated capacity. For example, a 12V battery should read between 12.6V and 12.8V.
The inverter doesn't turn on with grid power alone, only when battery is also powered on does the inverter start. TADTS The Solis S5's internal electronics are powered by DC, not AC. If there is no DC (i.e. no PV input or no battery power) nothing will run. Which makes sense as if there is no DC there is nothing the inverter can invert!
