It intends to set out the requirements for the safety and installation of battery systems connected to power conversion equipment for the supply of AC and DC power.
In order to be suitable for use as a battery storage site, there are various requirements that need to be met. These include factors such as proximity to a substation or other grid connection and sufficient grid capacity in the area. Access and planning policy are also considerations.
Stationary storage battery systems shall be located and constructed in accordance with this section. Stationary storage battery systems shall be housed in a noncombustible, locked cabinet or other enclosure to prevent access by unauthorized personnel unless located in a separate equipment room accessible only to authorized personnel.
To store lithium batteries in a warehouse, keep them in a cool, dry environment with temperatures between 32°F and 77°F (0°C to 25°C). Ensure they are charged to about 40-60% capacity, and store them upright in a secure location away from direct sunlight and moisture. Regularly inspect the batteries for any signs of damage or swelling. 1.
Long-term storage: As long-term storage will cause the battery activity passivation and accelerate the self-discharge rate, the ambient temperature should preferably be between 10℃-30℃, in addition, it is necessary to do a charge/discharge cycle every 3 months to maintain its activity and recovery performance.
