Ruan et al. proposed a simple attenuation model to capture the loss of battery capacity with DC discharge heating. The Pareto frontiers of heating time and capacity loss, two key but conflicting objectives, were obtained by using a multi-objective genetic algorithm.
Guo et al. proposed a hybrid DC-AC fast heating method to preheat LIB at low temperatures and high charge states. The method used a fractional-order circuit model to derive the total impedance of the circuit, which was used to calculate the optimal excitation parameters for DC-AC preheating under different conditions.
Preheating LIB at low temperatures is the ultimate goal of improving pack capacity and large rate charge/discharge performance. Despite advancements in heating rates, no heating method has emerged that can simultaneously meet the complex requirements of economy, consistency, and safety.
It was found that the maximum temperature of the module was significantly reduced at the coolant inlet temperature. However, the temperature difference inside the module increased, which may have led to the thermal imbalance of the battery module. He et al. proposed a hybrid heating strategy (Fig. 42).
