Monocrystalline (mono-Si) photovoltaic cells are formed of a single silicon crystal. They are have a higher performance but overpriced as contrasted to polycrystalline and thin film technologies. The Czochralski process is used to grow Silicon monocrystals into cylindrical shape ingots.

Will EPC contracts provide for the handover of a solar facility?

EPC Contracts will not provide for the handover of the solar facility to the Project Company, and the PPA will not become effective until all commissioning and reliability trialling has been successfully completed.

Does PERC architecture increase the efficiency of solar cells?

The increase in the efficiency of solar cells due to the implementation of the PERC architecture for single-crystal cells is about 0.8-1%, while the growth for polycrystalline cells is slightly lower, from 0.4 to 0.8%.

Will a big battery power Canberra?

The government said the big battery project will be capable of responding rapidly to network constraints and will be able to store enough renewable energy to power one-third of Canberra for two hours during peak demand periods. The Williamsdale battery will be developed, built and operated by Macquarie Group offshoot Eku Energy.
