The function of the meter is also dependent on the location of the current transformers (CT). If the CTs are installed in the incorrect location, the meter measures power and energy incorrectly, and the monitoring portal does not reflect the correct data. Refer to the table below for suggested CT installation locations based on the meter function.
Ensure that proper outdoor rated components are used. In case of damaged equipment, replace either the meter or the Safety Switch, as described in the next sections. If a different error message is displayed in the RGM status screen, contact SolarEdge support (support@solaredge.com).
Make sure that the only cable passing through the CT is the one from the L1 AC terminal block. Other cables passing through the CT may cause incorrect meter readings. Remove the black 4-pin terminal block from the left side of the meter. 2.
While SolarEdge Technical Support can recommend the CT placement location, the electrician on site must verify the CTs are installed in the correct location, and that the data read by the meter is correct before leaving the site. A single CT is pre-installed on the L1 AC conductor in the inverter or DC disconnect.
The direction is indicated by the arrow on the CT. Make sure that the only cable passing through the CT is the one from the L1 AC terminal block. Other cables passing through the CT may cause incorrect meter readings. Remove the black 4-pin terminal block from the left side of the meter.
Never install the cable communication between the inverter and the meter, or any other hardware while the AC power is connected to the inverter. Failure to disconnect AC power can result in injury or death. Never open the inverter if it is raining or expose the inverter to moisture.
