To build the battery pack, we are taking 4 cells in series and adding a parallel cell, so we have double the voltage and capacity per cell. See the diagram above for how to go about connecting the cells. The only limiting factor is that all of the cells need to be identical.
Note: When you connect the battery pack, the Outdoor 4's USB-C power socket is blocked and the Device Serial Number and QR code sticker is covered. In the Blink app, tap + on the home screen and select Battery Extension Pack. Scan the QR Code on the back of your Battery Extension Pack.
Ensure you are placing it with the Blink logo right-side up. Using the right-angle adapter, a coin, or a flat-head screwdriver, screw the back cover into place. Once again, take care not to over-tighten. Tap Continue in the app. The app will confirm your Battery Extension Pack has been added successfully.
If you want to have the pack constructed end to end, simply follow these directions, but don't hot glue the cells together, and they can be straightened out to be inline. The batteries need to be lined up beside each other, so that the positive end of one battery is next to the negative end of the next (see the first picture for this step).
After ensuring all your connections are secure and insulated: Cover the Battery Pack: Place the assembled battery pack inside the appropriate shrink wrap tubing. Heat Application: Use a heat gun or lighter to shrink the tubing around the battery pack. This will help secure the cells together and provide a protective outer layer.
