Figure below shows the architecture of multiple plate capacitor in which four capacitors are fited in one architecture. In this type of capacitor two plates are connected together to form the metal plate 1 and three plates are connected together to form the metal plate 2. The metal plates are connected to form the elecrodes of the capacitor.
Plate capacitor with a voltage between the two electrodes. The distance between the electrodes is and the area of an electrode is . In between is a dielectric material . A plate capacitor usually consists of two round or rectangular conductive plates (also called Electrodes ). These have an area and are located at a distance from each other.
In this type of capacitor two plates are connected together to form the metal plate 1 and three plates are connected together to form the metal plate 2. The metal plates are connected to form the elecrodes of the capacitor. In between all the plates same dielectric material used (See Figure).
The capacitance also depends upon the number of plates used in the capacitor. The material parameter which plays an important role in the capacitors is the dielectric constant of the insulator material. Further, the in the case of parallel plate capacitor the number of plates used are 2.
Therefore in this structure the four capacitors are formed in one architecture. The capacitance of this architecture is given by, In the capacitor shown in above figure the total number of plates in the architecture are five. Hence the the surface area of the plates is only four.
AA parallel-plate capacitor consists of two parallel conducting plates with surface S separated a distance d between which there is a potential difference ∆V (figure 1). Figure 1: Sketch of a parallel-plate capacitor. The capacitance of a parallel- plane capacitor depends on its geometry and is given by:

6.1.2: Capacitance and Capacitors
A capacitor is a device that stores energy. Capacitors store energy in the form of an electric field. At its most simple, a capacitor can be little more than a pair of metal plates separated by air. As this constitutes an open circuit, DC current will not flow through a capacitor. If this simple device is connected to a DC voltage source, as ...

What are DC-Blocking Capacitors?
Why Are DC-Blocking Capacitors Necessary? In both AC and RF systems, the goal is to maintain a stable waveform that oscillates around a desired base voltage.
