Remove the plugged aerator. Also turn off the hot water at the problem faucet #1 and turn the water heater valve back on. You have left the hot side of faucet #2 on so that it is the direction the water will flow when you open the water heater valve. Go see if any debris has exited the system. Turn off faucet #2 and go check the flow at faucet #1.
Follow these steps: Turn off the power to the pump at the breaker box. Wait for a minute. Switch the power back on. Check if the pump kicks in. If not, further investigation is needed. Clogged filters hinder water flow. Here’s how to clean them: Shut off the pump’s power. Locate the filter. It’s typically on the pump’s inlet side.
Sometimes clogged pipes cause a reduced water flow at one fixture or entire section of a structure. When I am called to solve such a problem, I often back flush the pipes rather than taking them apart to clear the blockage. First I confirm that the problem is caused by a clogged pipe in the system and not a faulty fixture.
There is no single method of treating cooling water. Selection of water treatment program for a specific system depends on: In this course, we will discuss the reasons and means for controlling scale, corrosion and biological fouling.
An acceptable cooling water treatment program should be able to reduce corrosion rates to the following average levels reported as mils/yr: Adding protective film- forming chemical inhibitors that the water can distribute to all wetted parts of the system.
The result of this activity is the loss of metal and often the formation of a deposit. Common problems arising from corrosion are reduction in heat transfer and water flow resulting from a partial or complete blockage of pipes, valves, strainers, etc.
Clogged Pipes
Back Flush Clogged Hot Water Pipes. Close the service valve at the water heater. Now the hot side of the system is under no pressure. Remove the aerator at the fixture with the low flow, Let''s call this fixture #1. Plug it, for this I use the toggle aerator pictured above. Alternately put a dime or a piece of paper towel in the aerator to stop ...
