The MCU controls the hardware, using three feedback signals and four PWM outputs. The signals sensed and fed back to the MCU include the AC line voltage (VLN), the DC bus voltage Vbus, and the main inductor current IL. The sensed signals implement the Vbus control loop, the current control loop, and the PLL control loop for the Inverter.
Figure 8. In a micro solar inverter, we need auxiliary power that can output multiple voltages to A/D sample circuits, drive circuits, MCU controller, and so forth. On the other hand, the auxiliary power must be completely isolated from primary side to secondary side.
All of the key functions are implemented on the F28035 MCU for the Solar Micro Inverter kit. A C2000 piccolo microcontroller with its on-chip PWM, ADC, and analog comparator modules can implement complete digital control of a micro inverter system. Figure 4 shows a simplified diagram of different stages present on the Solar Micro Inverter kit.
This is achieved by monitoring and analyzing the current and voltage output of the PV panel and then adjusting the load accordingly. By implementing MPPT, this project aims to significantly improve the efficiency of solar charging systems and maximize the amount of energy generated.
Recently, an answer to these challenges came in the form of MPPT solar converters. Maximum Power Point Tracking is a technique that maximizes the power that the solar panels can put out by continuously tracking the converter’s input power.
