The power MPP of the PV module decreases, as the irradiance decreases on the PV module surface. The V oc of the PV module decreases, as the temperature of the PV cell increases. The impact of dust on the solar PV module varies based on the soft, partial, and complete (soiling) shading.
Air dust has many effects on PV panels, such as the degradation of sunlight that reaches the seeming of the panels, and reduction of the solar radiation transmission to the PV panels (Landis, 1997).
The dust effect is special focus of serious repercussions on PV installations with soiling rate losses exceeding 30 % per day in the Saharan desert (Conceição et al., 2023). Thus, accumulated dust on the surfaces of the solar cells devices leads to a considerable energy reduction in the performance of the PV systems (Gholami et al., 2018a).
Due to accumulation of dust particles on the surface of solar PV systems, and output power is reduced to a large extent. It is concluded that a small layer of dust itself reduces PV system efficiency to a large extent. The minimum power value of 3.88 W is obtained during the accumulation of rice husk on the solar PV module.
The transmittance and the short circuit current of the solar PV module reduce by the accumulation of dust on the surface. The amount of reduction of the transmittance and short circuit current depends on the PM 10 concentration, dust loading (mgm −2), fine dust particle concentration, and tilt angle.
