Attendees explored innovative strategies for enhancing asset performance and longevity, with a spotlight on key markets like Germany, Italy, and the UK. Stay tuned for details on the 2025 edition of the Battery Asset Management Summit Europe, where we’ll continue to chart the path forward for energy storage asset management.
Within a year of the launch, the Commission action plan is in place, the first pilot production facilities are being built and further projects are announced to establish the EU as the lead player in the strategic area of battery innovation and manufacturing.
The European Battery Alliance (EBA) was launched in 2017 by the European Commission, EU countries, industry, and the scientific community. Batteries are a strategic part of Europe's clean and digital transition and a key enabling technology, essential to the automotive sector's competitiveness.
In 2018, the Commission adopted a strategic action plan for batteries. It sets out a comprehensive framework of regulatory and non-regulatory measures to support all segments of the battery value chain and includes the 6 priority areas below.
Develop prediction and modelling tools for the reuse of materials in secondary Developing automated disassembly of battery cells. BATTERY 2030+ will have major impacts on the battery technology ecosystem and beyond. BATTERY 2030+ aims to invent the sustainable batteries of the future.
The main focus of the manufacturability roadmap will therefore focus on providing methodology to develop beyond-state-of-the-art processes in the future. In this sense, the challenges faced by the battery manufacturing industries can be divided into two levels.
