Consequently, the designed triple-layer polymer-based nanocomposites simultaneously achieve the suppressed loss, high Eb, and high εr, which are highly demanded in energy storage capacitors. Subsequently, we evaluate the energy storage performances of ‘H-K-H’ triple-layer structure under a wide range of electric fields.
For example, Fig. 5 i shows that the development of electrical tree of triple-layer dielectrics is slower, milder, and farther away from the opposite electrode than those of the P (VDF-HFP) and single-layer nanocomposites at the identical time.
Consequently, a high-dielectric-constant (high- k) thin film is required in the DRAM capacitors [2, 7]. For a data WRITE process of the DRAM, the cell transistor is turned on by the volage applied to the word line, and the high or low potential of the bit line is transferred to the cell capacitor. As a result, 0 or 1 data is recorded.
Herein, we define the triple-layer nanocomposites as ‘H-K x -H’, where x represents the weight percentage of PA-Al 2 O 3 @CNTs in the middle ‘K’ layer (x = 0, 0.5, 0.9, 1.1), and ‘H’ represents the ‘high Eb layer’ in the top and bottom layers.
Pillar capacitors have the disadvantage of reduced surface area compared to that of cylinder-type capacitors. However, the pillar-type capacitors have a smaller cell size than cylinder-type capacitors, and therefore the integration density can be further increased.
Thus, the primary task of improving the properties of capacitors under medium electric field should be suppressing the energy loss, while increasing the difference between Dmax and Dr. Currently, the construction of a multi-layered structure with barrier layers is an efficient strategy to reduce the energy loss.
