The concentrating solar technologies normally considered are parabolic trough (PTR) and central receiver (tower) systems, where the former has reached and the latter is approaching commercial maturity. The existing studies primarily focus on the reliability-based evaluation of capacity values for CSP plants.
The literature review reveals a limited number of reliability studies involving integration of concentrating solar power (CSP) which is explained by its still low share compared to the wind and photovoltaic energy.
