In this study, the impacts of PV solar power plants on the environment will be investigated. Some of the most significant environmental impacts of PV solar power plants are related to land use, greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), water consumption, hazardous materials, visual impact, and noise .
Guidance and best practices on nature conservation and degraded ecosystem restoration are also required to reach both climate and nature protection objectives. This report provides support to solar industry stakeholders, detailing relevant EU environmental legislation for solar projects.
The sustainability of solar PV plants should be assessed using a qualitative methodology, dissociated indicators, and potential negative interactions between spheres of influence. Subramaniyan et al. present a method for predicting the degradation rate of PV modules based on physical models and statistical data modeling.
Section 4 describes that the main environmental parameters affecting solar power plants are solar insolation, biomass density, and biodiversity, and we focus on these parameters here. Biodiversity is measured by species density (species ha −1), and is correlated with sunshine and precipitation .
The results of the analysis show that there is enough land both in Europe and worldwide to install the planned capacities of rooftop and ground-mounted PV power plants. CO 2 emissions are at the same level as for concentrated solar power, with a decreasing trend.
The practical potential of PV power plants is the amount of solar energy that can be converted into electricity by PV systems under acceptable conditions. This depends on the solar radiation, the area desirable and acceptable for PV installation, and the impact and benefit of PV technology.

Effects of solar photovoltaic technology on the environment in …
From Tables 1 and 2, the total environmental damage caused by solar photovoltaic technology is 6.66 × 10 −3 yuan/kWh, and the total environmental damage caused by coal-fired power generation technology is 52.16 × 10 −3 yuan/kWh. This result indicates that although solar photovoltaic causes environmental damage, the effect is less than that of coal …
