BEIJING, June 19 -- China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Wednesday unveiled revised guidelines for the lithium-ion battery industry to further strengthen standardized management and promote the high-quality development of the sector.
The lithium-ion battery production system should have the functions of detection, display, traceability, and control measures for the factors such as moisture, acne, burr, gas, and harmful impurities that affect the production process of lithium-ion batteries, and it should ensure the effectiveness of these functions and measures.
Lithium batteries are mainly composed of anode, cathode, electrolyte, separator, and battery shell . A variety of materials are used to manufacture these battery components. However, the material determines the property, and the property will affect the function and safety of the battery.
These standards should be referenced when procuring and evaluating equipment and professional services. Many organizations have established standards that address lithium-ion battery safety, performance, testing, and maintenance.
