Then, in this section, the thermal management scheme of automotive batteries will be built based on the principle of battery heat generation and combined with the working principle of new energy vehicle batteries. New energy vehicles rely on batteries as their primary power sources.
The power battery is an important component of new energy vehicles, and thermal safety is the key issue in its development. During charging and discharging, how to enhance the rapid and uniform heat dissipation of power batteries has become a hotspot.
To conduct the heat efficiently, the heat spreaders may be placed between batteries to enhance the heat transfer from the module to the cold plates. Because of the flat shape, the cold plates are widely used in battery module, consisting of prismatic cells instead of cylindrical cells.
The experimental results showed that the network model was in good agreement with the 2D CFD results, which could effectively manage the temperature of the battery. The shorter the reciprocating period, the lower the temperature difference and maximum unit temperature of the system.
Emerging technologies such as thermoelectric devices and internal heating methods for future battery thermal management are analyzed. We highlight that the combination of passive and active cooling/heating methods is promising to meet the stringent thermal requirements, particularly under dynamic conditions with drastic power fluctuations.
The temperature of the battery pack was controlled by switching between the activation terminal and the negative terminal , and the heating process was monitored and characterized by the infrared thermography . An electric current was sent to pass through the nickel foil so as to generate heat.
