Finally, the numerical experiments intuitively show the effects and differences of the policies. The Chinese government has implemented the charging infrastructure subsidy policy, which consists of investment subsidy and operation subsidy, to solve the problem of insufficient charging infrastructure.
The analysis of the results leads to several interesting findings: (1) The theoretical analysis and numerical experiments show that any form of subsidy is beneficial for promoting charging infrastructure. Subsidy policies can help overcome the “chicken-egg dilemma” between charging infrastructure and electric vehicles.
Subsidy policies for energy storage technologies are adjusted according to changes in market competition, technological progress, and other factors; thus, energy storage subsidy policies are uncertain. In this section, the investment decision of energy storage technology with different investment strategies under an uncertain policy is studied.
Operation subsidy can be introduced to increase the charging demand. The results of both model and numerical simulations validate the importance and necessity of subsidy policies in the market deployment of charging infrastructure. The differences in the effects of different types of subsidies provide a new perspective for policy design.
Charging infrastructure is the foundation of electric vehicle applications. A subsidy policy for charging infrastructure is helpful to construct convenient charging facilities. We analyze the effects of investment subsidy \ (k\) and operation subsidy \ ( {s}_ {O}\) on optimal prices, demand, and profit.
