This kind of energy conservation might be meaningfully reached in high-rise building design. In order to evaluate high-rise buildings in terms of solar energy use, the author analyzes the case studies from both passive solar strategies and active solar technologies’ aspects.
While China, the US, and Japan are the top three installers, China's relative contribution accounts for nearly 37% of the entire solar installation in 2022. Fig. 1 illustrates the contribution of energy sources to both electricity generation and total installed power capacity by 2050.
Finally, high-rise buildings have great potential to gain solar radiations because of their vast facades. Analyzing case studies illustrate that applying solar passive strategies in high-rise buildings have a meaningful effect on reducing the total annual cooling and heating energy demand.
forefront of research in solar energy and has maintained a leading position. Although the United States indirectly. Even the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) has laboratories where the sun is studied [18, 19]. The most considerable government assistance is provided t hrough NASA (National Aeronautics Administration).
The analysis of the current state of solar PV roof research by country reveals that China leads in recent theoretical studies on PV, followed by Spain and the USA. Despite China’s prominence in theoretical research, there is a need for enhancement in practical applications.
A joint report by the Solar En ergy Association (SE IA) and GTM Research reveals that in the second quarter of 2011, 314.3 MW of solar photovoltaic energy was installed in the United Sta tes. For comparison - in the same period of 2010. This f igure was 186.5 MW . Figure 2. Renewable electricity generation by country and region, 2020-2021. low.
