Pay attention to the polarity markings (+ and -) on the battery and the compartment to ensure a proper connection. Connect the battery’s terminals or connectors to the corresponding terminals in the alarm panel.
DO NOT CONNECT THE KONNECTED DEVICE TO AC POWER. Do not confuse the AUX Power Out on the alarm panel with where the alarm panel receives AC power. Connecting the device to AC power will damage the device and may result in electrocution or fire! Verify that the AUX Power Output is between 6V and 24V DC.
Before connecting the battery, plug the unit into mains. Using a voltage meter measure Volts across the Red (+) and Black (-) battery wires to check that the Charge voltage is between 13.6V-13.8V D.C. Disconnect Mains power before wiring up the equipment to the unit.
A flathead screwdriver or an Allen wrench, depending on the type of screws used to secure the alarm panel, will be needed to open the panel and access the battery compartment. Make sure you have the right tool on hand before you begin. When it comes to purchasing a new battery, it is important to ensure compatibility with your alarm system.
You can use almost any power adapter with a standard 5.5mm power plug to provide power to the Konnected device as long as it outputs between 6V and 24V DC (it’s usually clearly labeled). We recommend using a 12V DC power adapter when possible because most alarm system components are also 12V.
Connect the device to the adapter before power on. Strictly abide by local electrical safety standards, and make sure that the voltage in the area is steady and conforms to the power requirements of the device. Do not connect the device to more than one power supply. Otherwise, the device might become damaged.
