At present, there are four main charging pile standards in the world. Do you know them? At present, the four main international charging pile standards are: Chinese national standard GB/T, CCS1 American standard (combo/Type 1), CCS2 European standard (combo/Type 2), and Japanese standard CHAdeMO.
The electric vehicle charging network in Europe is required to implement the CCS Type 2 charging pile standard, and CCS Type 2 has gradually become the main European charging pile standard. In the CCS Type 2 standard, in the DC fast charge mode, the voltage is 500V, and the output current is 200A.
The prerequisite for convenient charging of electric vehicles is that the charging pile can be adapted to all electric vehicles to avoid incompatibility between charging piles and electric vehicles, that is, a unified charging pile standard is required.
Two different types of charging methods like overnight depot charging method and the pantograph charging method were used for charging heavy-load applications. The overnight depot charging method is a simple and effective method, which allows slow charging on the battery, and the charging can be completed during the startup time.
There are three different charging techniques are used in the EV field and the techniques are the battery exchange method, conductive charging method, and wireless charging method as shown in Fig. 6. The conductive charging method has been divided into two types pantograph charging and overnight depot charging. Fig. 6.
Over the course of the next five years, the government of the United States of America plans to install one million charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) across the country. This development is part of the infrastructure development initiative. The goal of this initiative is to make room for the growing number of electric vehicles.
