While in use, the player's movement speed is reduced by 40%, and the player cannot sprint, interact with map features, fire their weapons, or use most abilities unless the Shield Battery's use is completed or canceled.
The shield battery provides a Massive amount of shield regeneration to a nearby unit at the cost of its energy. This allows you to effectively make a unit, say a stalker, invincible in the early game so long as the battery has the energy to spare. This makes it extremely effective so long as your force is somewhat near an attackers strength.

Shield batteries are very strong vs harras and with overcharge your stalker can easily tank like 7-8 marines focus firing it. Use it in mineral lines and on forward base. So place around 2-3 with a couple cannons on 4th and fifth bases, it'll make holding them easier.
