What is balancing in a battery management system (BMS)?

In part one, we will discuss various common monitoring methods. Part two will focus on different balancing options. In a BMS, monitoring refers to the process of continuously measuring and analyzing various parameters of the battery pack to ensure its safe and efficient operation.

How to power a BMS unit?

BMS unit is always powered from the PACK + and PACK – connections. An additional connection from the battery pack positive voltage (Pack +) and the battery pack negative voltage (Pack -) should be connected to pins 20 and 11. Do not bypass the Cell 1- and the highest cell to this connection.

What are BMS configuration parameters?

The BMS configuration parameters are the parameters that could be used to configure the BMS, like the battery parameters, BMS parameters and more.
